BibleWell is committed to your privacy. We don't sell your data. We don't track your reading habits. We don't build profiles. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what limited data we do handle and why.
We never collect or store any of the following:
Your highlights, notes, font size preferences, and other personalizations are stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device. We have no copy. No cloud backup. If you clear your browser data, these are deleted permanently.
Bible text: Verses are loaded from public scripture APIs (bible-api.com and bible.helloao.org). Only the chapter reference is sent — no personal information.
BibleWell AI feature: When you use BibleWell AI for verse insights or to ask Bible questions, the verse text or your question is sent to our AI processing partner to generate a response. No personal information is included in the request — only the Bible verse and your question. Responses are generated in real-time and not stored after delivery.
Google AdSense: We display ads through Google AdSense to fund free hosting and AI costs. AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant ads. You can manage ad preferences via Google Ad Settings. AdSense ads never appear inside Bible text.
Google Analytics: We use anonymous, aggregated analytics (Google Analytics) to understand which pages are visited. This is fully anonymized — we never see individual user data.
Stripe (donations): If you donate, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Prayer Requests: If you submit a prayer request, the form is processed via Netlify Forms and sent to our team email (biblewell@hadlaman.com). We read each one. We never share, publish, or sell your prayer requests.
We use essential cookies for the app to function (font size memory, theme preference, etc.). Google AdSense and Google Analytics may also place cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.
BibleWell is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any data from children. If you're under 13, please use BibleWell with parental supervision.
Since we don't collect personal data, there's almost nothing for you to request. If you submitted a prayer request and want it deleted, email biblewell@hadlaman.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of BibleWell after changes constitutes acceptance.
