By accessing or using BibleWell at biblewell.ca or as a Progressive Web App installed on your device, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

About BibleWell

BibleWell is a free Bible reading application built in Canada and offered to believers everywhere. The app provides access to Bible text, devotional content, personal note-taking, verse highlighting, and AI-powered scripture insights.

BibleWell is free to use and will remain free. Optional financial support is welcomed but never required.

Permitted Use

You may use BibleWell for personal, devotional, educational, and faith-based purposes. This includes:

• Reading the Bible in any available translation
• Adding personal notes and reflections
• Highlighting verses for personal study
• Sharing individual verses with others
• Using AI insights for personal understanding
• Installing BibleWell as a PWA on your personal device

Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Use BibleWell for any commercial purpose without written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the app's code
• Use automated tools to scrape scripture or content from the app
• Use the app in any way that violates applicable Canadian law
• Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality or security

BibleWell provides access to several Bible translations:

• King James Version (KJV) — Public domain
• World English Bible (WEB) — Public domain
• American Standard Version (ASV) — Public domain
• New King James Version (NKJV) — Copyright © Thomas Nelson. Used via public API for personal use only.

Scripture text is provided for personal, non-commercial use only. Reproduction or distribution of Bible text for commercial purposes may require separate licensing from the relevant copyright holders.

AI Scripture Insights

The AI Verse Insight feature uses Anthropic's Claude AI to provide commentary and explanations on Bible verses. These insights are generated by artificial intelligence and are intended as a supplementary study aid only. They do not represent official theological positions, denominational doctrine, or authoritative biblical interpretation.

Always consult your pastor, church community, and the full context of Scripture for theological guidance.

Donations & Payments

Financial support for BibleWell is entirely voluntary. When you choose to give, you are redirected to Stripe's secure payment platform. All transactions are processed by Stripe and subject to their terms. BibleWell does not store any payment information.

Donations to BibleWell are not tax-deductible charitable contributions as BibleWell is not a registered charity under the Canadian Income Tax Act. They are voluntary support payments.

Advertising

BibleWell displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support free access for all users. Ads are served by Google and subject to Google's advertising policies. BibleWell does not control which specific ads are displayed.

Disclaimer of Warranties

BibleWell is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, accuracy of AI-generated content, or uninterrupted access to scripture via third-party APIs. We are not responsible for temporary unavailability of online scripture content.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, BibleWell and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of BibleWell after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
